How to reach Eurodisplay 2022

By car

Leave the Autobahn A8 at the interchange "Autobahnkreuz Stuttgart-Vaihingen" and take the A831 in the direction of Vaihingen. Leave the A831 after the tunnel (careful: speed trap!) and turn left at the traffic light.

By public transport

If you are travelling less than 100km by train it is advisable to buy a train ticket to "university" to avoid having to get an additional S-Bahn ticket. Longer train trips include the use of the S-Bahn to "University" (only S-Bahn, no other mode of public transportation).

Upon arrival at Stuttgart Main Station move towards the lower platforms (S-Bahn, green S as a logo). If you do not have a valid ticket for the S-Bahn to "University" (see above) you will need to get a ticket at one of the red ticket machines (instructions as .pdf) located near the top of the escalators down to the lower platforms. You will need a one-zone ticket. Choose your language, press "Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart (VVS)", then "1 zone". You will now be asked to choose between a one-way ticket or a multi-ticket (usable for four trips). The multi-ticket has to be devalued before each trip for each person on one of the four sections. You need to devalue the ticket at the small orange boxes before entering the train.

Take the S-Bahn train at platform 101, either

  • S1 Direction Herrenberg
  • S2 Direction Filderstadt
  • S3 Direction Flughafen

The S-Bahn comes every 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the time of day. Exit at the stop "University" (about 10 minutes commute) and follow the the way to the Eurodisplay Conference Site at Pfaffenwaldring 47.

By plane

DELTA Airlines offer direct flights from Atlanta (USA) to Stuttgart (Germany). If you have no direct flight to Stuttgart, then the most common airport is Frankfurt (FRA). From Frankfurt you have a direct train connection (takes around 1,5 hours) to Stuttgart Main Station. In this case you can book a „Rail & Fly“ Ticket which already includes the train cost from Frankfurt to Stuttgart.

Upon arrival at the  Stuttgart Airport you will exit the gate on level 1 (lower level). Go to the S-Bahn train station one level lower, marked with a large, green "S" logo. You will need to get a ticket at one of the red ticket machines (instructions as .pdf) located near the top of the escalators down to the lower platforms. You will need a two-zone ticket. Choose your language, press "Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart (VVS)", then "2 zones". You will now be asked to choose between a one-way ticket or a multi-ticket (usable for four trips). The multi-ticket has to be devalued before each trip for each person on one of the four sections. You need to devalue the ticket at the small orange boxes before entering the train.

Take the S-Bahn train, either

  • S2 Direction Schorndorf
  • S3 Direction Backnang

and exit at S-Bahn station "University" (about 17 minutes trip ) and follow the way to the Eurodisplay Conference Site at Pfaffenwaldring 47.
